Nowable is a task manager that keeps your tasks on your device and surfaces the ones you can actually do right now. You save places and describe contexts in plain language — at the office, walking, at home in the evening. When iOS tells the app you have arrived somewhere, or how you are moving, Nowable works out on the device which of your contexts are active and how many tasks that makes possible, then tells you.

Work through these in order:

• Location must be set to "Always". In Settings → Nowable → Location, "While Using the App" is not enough — iOS will not wake a closed app without "Always".
• Notifications must be allowed, or the activation happens silently with nothing to show for it.
• Open Nowable at least once after adding or editing a place. The background path reads a cache that the app builds while it is running; a place created seconds ago on another device is monitored once this device has caught up.
• iOS decides the timing. Region monitoring is deliberately power-frugal, and arrival can register a minute or two late, or after you have moved a little way inside the radius.
• Check the radius. The default is 300 m. iOS treats any region smaller than about 100 m as though it were 100 m, and a dependable radius in practice runs from 100 m to 500 m depending on how much Wi-Fi and cell signal is around. A small radius does not make arrival more precise — it makes it less reliable.
• Low Power Mode makes iOS more conservative about background wakes.

Expected, within limits. The count in the notification is computed in the background against a cached snapshot, without starting the whole app — that is what makes it fast and cheap. Open the app and the Do screen shows current truth. If the two are wildly different rather than off by one, that is worth reporting.

Both devices must be signed in to the same account. Changes upload when you make them, when you bring the app to the foreground, and every 30 minutes while anything is still queued; downloads arrive continuously while you have a connection. If an upload fails, the app retries after 5 seconds and doubles the wait each time, up to an hour. If a device has been offline, open the app and give it a few seconds to reconnect — Settings shows the current sync status.

If a device has been signed out or offline for a long stretch and records still look wrong afterwards, send us the account email and roughly when the two devices last agreed.

Nowable merges field by field, so edits to different parts of the same task both survive. When two devices genuinely changed the same field, the later change wins. For longer text bodies, the version that lost is kept as a separate copy rather than thrown away, so nothing you wrote disappears silently.

When the parser cannot recover a task from a sentence, Nowable keeps exactly what you wrote rather than guessing. Nothing is lost; you can fill in the details by hand.

Two things help: name projects, lists and contexts the way you actually refer to them out loud, and mention a place or device by the name you gave it. If a sentence you consider obvious fails, send it to us verbatim — those examples are genuinely useful.

Nowable searches two ways at once: plain text matching on your device, which always works, and meaning-based matching on the server, which needs a connection. Offline, or if the search service is briefly unavailable, you get the text half only. It comes back on its own.

The language service that interprets your text is an external provider, and occasionally it is down. Nowable degrades rather than blocking: your text is saved as you typed it. Try again later. If it lasts more than an hour or two, tell us — we may not know.

Every account has 5 GB, set when the invitation is issued. The app warns you at 90% — that is 4.5 GB used. Attachments are almost always what fills it. Delete attachments you no longer need, and the space comes back.

If you attach a file when you are already over the limit, the upload is refused but the file stays on your device and is flagged, so you do not lose it — free some space and it will go up.

Use the password reset option on the sign-in screen. The link that arrives is valid for one hour and works once. If it expires, request another. Passwords must be at least twelve characters.

Invitation links last seven days and can be redeemed once. If yours has expired or was already used, email support@nowable.io and we will issue a new one.

Almost certainly not. A record you delete is removed immediately, and we hold no database backups to restore from, so there is no copy on our side to recover from. What lives on for a while afterwards is a deletion marker, and its job is to tell your other devices about the deletion — not to undo it.

The exception is deleting your whole account, which is scheduled 30 days out and cancelled automatically if you sign in during those 30 days.

So if something in Nowable would hurt to lose, keep a copy outside it. We would rather say that plainly than let you assume a safety net that is not there.

In the app: Settings → Delete account. You will be asked to confirm, and the deletion is then scheduled 30 days out. Signing in during those 30 days cancels it automatically — that is the only way to call it off. After 30 days everything is removed permanently and cannot be recovered.

Yes. There is no export button in the app yet, so email support@nowable.io from your account's address and we will produce a machine-readable copy of your content. See Your rights for the other requests we handle.

Not in the sense that phrase usually means. Your live position is read on the device, used to work out which of your saved places you are at, and discarded. It is never uploaded, never logged and never shared, and the record of which contexts are currently active stays on the device that computed it. The coordinates of places you save yourself do sync, because they are content you created. Section 2 of the Privacy Policy sets this out precisely.

Some of it, deliberately and only for features you invoke. Text you capture in plain language is sent to a language model so it can be split into a task and its attributes, and titles and bodies are sent to an embedding service so search can match by meaning. Task notes, attachments and your location are never sent. Section 4 of the Privacy Policy lists exactly what goes and what does not.

Yes. The app was renamed to Nowable. Older builds, screenshots and some internal references may still say Kairos. Your account and your data are unaffected.
